Weight: 12-27 kg (26-60 lb.)

Status: not endangered

Habitat: Porcupines are found in hilly, rocky and broken country. They need an area where burrows and shelters are available. They are found up to 2 000 meters (6,600 feet).

Role: omnivore

Food: Porcupines are omnivores. They are nocturnal. They eat roots, bulbs, tubers and bark. Sometimes they gnaw bones and horns.
