Length: 17-23 cm (7-9"")

Weight: 270-700 g (9.5 -25 oz.)

Tail: 2-5 cm (0.8"-2")

Habitat: Hedgehogs are found in areas of well-drained soils of wet and dry savannas with termite mounds. They use the termite nests, rock piles and leaf litter for shelter.

Role: omnivore

Food: Hedgehogs eat insects, worms, snails, slugs, small vertebrates, eggs, fruit, nuts and fungi.

Predators: leopards, eagles, falcons, owls, secretary birds, jackals, caracal, several, snakes, monitor lizards Turn to Next Page
