Length: 1.3-2.7 m (4’4"-7’)

Height: 85-100 cm (34-40")

Tail: 25-35 cm (10-14")

Weight: 130-274 kg (286-603 lb.)

Status: common in its habitat but rarely seen; best seen at treetop-style hotels in Kenya

Habitat: lowland and montane forests along with adjacent grasslands; reported in the Ngorongoro Crater region

Role: herbivore

Food: Mainly a grazer but will root for tubers in soft soil
