Length: 35 cm (14")

Status: Common

Habitat:  Red-necked spurfowl are found up to altitudes of 1 500 meters (4,920 feet). They like forested patches, bush and wooded areas with long grass.

Food: Red-necked spurfowl eat tubers, shoots, berries, seeds, grain, insects and ticks. They will peck at elephant and buffalo dung for undigested seeds that have passed through the animal’s digestive system.
