Turn to Previous Page  The consumers found in Trophic Level III are a very mixed bag. There are several species that are omnivores (animals that eat both plants and animals) and some predators (animals that hunt and kill other animals).

Among the omnivores will be found several species of birds and a few species of primates.

Trophic Level III contains several predator species. Small hawks, owls and lizards are found here as well as many small carnivores including genets, mongooses and jackals.

All of the species in this section have one thing in common. They are preyed upon by other larger predators found in Trophic Level IV. Turn to Next Page
